Zoa Peak

Zoa is a low elevation peak near the Coquihalla Summit. Skiing to the peak is quite easy, and there are a variety of short north facing ski runs to choose from. In many ways, the skiing is similar to Diamond Head. The first part of the climb is along a forestry road and pipeline right of way that are popular with snowmobilers.

Highway 5, the Coquihalla highway, goes north from Hope. It's a toll highway, but you don't have to go past the tollbooth or pay the toll to go to Zoa. Get off at the Falls Lake exit, just before the toll booth, and cross under the highway to the west side. Park along the highway onramp (heading toward Vancouver) where a road heads north to falls lake.

Follow this road for about 1km to an obvious junction where there are many choices. For the quickest access to Zoa, cross the creek on the road and climb up the steep pipeline right of way. Following the road to the far right works too, but is less direct. Climbs as high as you can along the pipeline and then ski up the forested ridge (dense at first, then meadows) to the top.
