Synopsis

The Duffy Lake area may be a long way away, but it looks pretty awesome, so I want to go exploring. One of the cool things about the area is that the highway is at serious elevation (over 1000m) so you can get up to nice high altitudes really quickly. After the heavy snow we ran into at Brew recently, my hope is the extra elevation will get us some nice light, deep, powder.

Date

The pretrip meeting is Wednesday March 16^th, 6:15pm, in the clubroom. It will start promptly, so don't be late!

The trip is March 19^th - 20^th, 2011

Equipment List

We'll be camping in the Rohr Lake area, which means no hut. So bring extra warm clothes and we'll need some tents.

This page has a good list of what people bring on a standard ski tent trip (though it's for a two night trip, so adjust food accordingly): Gear_lists#ski_tent_trip.

A basic list to start with is:

• A set of non-cotton clothes
• A wool sweater or fleece
• Some sort of waterproof(ish) layer
• Gloves or mitts
• Toque
• Headlamp - ESSENTIAL
• Sunglasses and sunscreen. (We're hoping for good weather)
• Shovel, Beacon, Probe
• Food (Dinner, two lunches, and a breakfast.)
• Snowshoes/Skis and Poles
• Sleeping bag + mat
