Climbing-Specific Essentials No Matter What Rock Level
- UIAA-approved climbing harness**
- helmet (UIAA-approved climbing helmet preferred; next best is ski helmet, followed by bike helmet)**

- day pack (any backpack of approx.. 15-30 liters volume for storing essential equipment)
