The VOC has a long history of up-keeping our Trails and Huts all through the work of volunteers. In order to accomplish this the VOC own and maintains a set of tools specifically for the purpose of [[Workhikes]]. These tools are available at no charge/deposit for any group running a workhike.

Brush Saws (or Death Machines) are similar to weed-wackers but have more power and use a blade rather a string at the bottom of the pole. Depending on the cc, the geometry and the engine they can cost anywhere from $500 to $2000.
