Cross the cable car on the Cheakamus Lake trail turn off.
Take the Cheakamus Lake turn off from highway 99 at Function Junction. A short distance up the road, take the left fork to Cheakamus Lake and Helm Creek. It is not plowed, but is often clear of snow in the early winter and late spring. Ski/drive to the Cheakamus Lake parking lot.  Follow the Cheakamus Lake trail for a few km to a junction, where the Helm creek trail branches off to the right.  The former cable car across the Cheakamus River has now been replaced with a bridge.

A marked trail switch-backs up the hill, then levels off. The trail stays left on Helm Creek and slowly climbs into Helm Creek Meadows
