Synopsis

Beginner friendly snowshoeing trip. We'll be heading out (hopefully not to far) for a weekend and camping overnight. Destination is not yet figured out. It'll be determined within the next few days.

Date

November 29th - 30th

Pretrip Meeting

November 26th, 7:00pm in the clubroom

This may have to be moved depending on whether there is a slideshow.

Experience Required

Not much by the way of experience is necessary. Winter camping skills are useful, as is having been on an overnight trip before.

Things to bring

The equipment list above covers what you need to bring. The ski specific stuff should be left off in favor of snowshoes and a pair of boots. Here are the basics:

  • Snowhsoes
  • Boots
  • Warm Clothes
  • Sleeping bag and a mat
  • Water bottles
  • Food
  • Avalanche gear (shovel, probe, beacon)

Stove and tent groups will be arranged ahead of time. The pre-trip meeting is a good place to do that. It's usually most efficient if its done within cargroups.
