The Wendy Thompson hut is run by the ACC Whistler section and is located in Marriot Basin on the north side of Duffey Lake Road. There is a fee and reservation system in place. The hut officialy sleeps 16.

Fees

  • $10/night for ACC members (VOC student members qualify as ACC members)
  • $15/night for non-members

Reservations can be made by calling (604) 902-1772.

Facilities

The hut is equiped with :

  • Kerosene heater
  • Coleman lamps
  • Coleman stove

The above equipment is usually locked away in a closet. Upon making a reservation you will be supplied with the lock combination.

Skiing

Avalanche Hazard
The route and terrain described here is capable of producing avalanches. Safe travel requires the skills and equipment to assess and mitigate avalanche hazards. A professionally taught training course is highly recommended.

The area includes many good skiing bowls. There are some gentle slopes near the hut which makes it a good area for beginners.

Access

The hut is just over 5km from the road and usually takes 2-3 hours to reach in summer or winter.

Whistler's ACC section has details about access to the hut, including a complete GPS track.

National ACC also has some additional information.
