Well, that's what I get for trying to do it at 5 in the morning. I think you're right about the plural names, it makes more sense. | |||
As for hiking vs. backpacking, I did have a reason. Hiking was meant to hold hikes that can be done with minimal gear, day trips etc, while backpacking was intended to convey that sleeping gear, and an overnight stay would be necessary/optimal. I'll leave it be for now and work on something else... | |||

Plural names for categories
I would think that it might be best to pluralize certain category names where the category describes a collection of things. I.e. huts instead of hut, Hiking Trips, etc.
Also, I think that hiking and backpacking are really the same thing, so there's no need for seperate categories, since hiking is all inclusive.
