Introduction
Since 1999, the city of Vancouver hosts an film festival dedicated to the outdoors:
" The Festival's goal is to approach the outdoor communities of the Pacific North-West, and to offer them films and slide presentations dealing with mountain culture and mountain sports. The Festival will also create a platform for the exchange of ideas between filmmakers, outdoor activists, and the public, while at the same time it will support the most artistic and effective ways of communicating outdoor related issues." - Mission statement from VIMFF website.
Over the span of a week, every evening will present a select scene related to the outdoors: from mountain biking to paddling to climbing while mixing in films from various countries around the world.
2007
In collaboration with Alan Formanek from VIMFF, VOC members and related friends will have access to a group rate (instead of the regular price $15/evening) for the duration of the festival. In order to obtain these tickets, we'll need first to know how many people will be interested to come see these films and which evenings. Please post the evenings where you, your friends and/or family members will be coming. Prices will be disclosed later once we get a good idea in the attendance rates.
Note: The film program will be up on VIMFF's website and here by the end of January.
