When: April 21-22 (Sat. and Sun) (these dates were chosen at semi-random and can be changed if enough people want to)

Where: Indian Arm, in North Van

The Plan:

A cushy guided trip!

We will leave Vancouver Saturday morning, rent kayaks at the mouth of Indian Arm, and do a quick paddling tutorial for beginners. Then we will paddle to our campsite, Granite Falls, ending mid to late afternoon. There are opportunities for hiking and swimming near the campsite. The next day we will paddle back, possibly stopping to see some waterfalls.

Anyone who can arrange to rent/provide their own kayak and transport it to the put-in site is welcome to do so, as it will definitely be cheaper.

All food is vegetarian and cooked communally (2 lunches, 1 breakfast and 1 dinner). Cost will be split between the group.

Bring:

  • Warm, non-cotton clothes
  • A waterproof jacket
  • Gloves with grip
  • Tent
  • Sleeping bag and pad
  • Shoes: Neoprene booties, tevas/other waterproof sandals, or old athletic trainers, plus a dry pair to change into.
  • PFD if you're not renting
  • Hat, sunscreen, sunglasses
  • Headlamp
  • Camera?

Please pack everything into several small bags lined with garbage bags to waterproof them, as large backpacks won't fit in the kayak.
