The Style

We should be "low output" and "beginner-friendly". We want to go somewhere pretty and enjoy being there. We do not need to scare ourselves badly. The Harrison Hut area is extensively glaciated, but we do not intend to wander around on these glaciers, partly because this was a low-snow year and there's lots of blue ice exposed.

Day 1

Drive up past Meager Hotsprings, maybe check hot springs on the way. Hike into Harrison Hut along the high scenic route. Dry boots.

Day 2

Climb Something. Roland wants The Three Jokers. Overseer and Frozen Boot are other possibilities.

Day 3

Hike out, drive home

Gear

We do not need rope, crampons, an ice axe, or other implements of destruction. Boots, gaiters, sleeping bag, pack, food, some slightly warm weather resistant clothes will be good. We have a GPS for navigation. If you are unfamiliar with any of this, talk to Roland.

HOWEVER

The area is extensively managed, so if the Authorities decide to close the road we're S.O.L. Depends if it's too hot, too dry, too wet, or whatever. We could divert to somewhere if this happens. It appears that the road is open and OK.
