The Idea
The idea is to hike the entire Howe Sound Crest Trail self-propelled. This will be accomplished by forming two teams which will hike the trail in opposite directions, having ridden their bikes to the respective trailheads. We will exchange bike lock keys and ride the other teams' bicycles back - there will be a meet-up time and spot in Stanley Park on Sunday night for a re-exchange of bicycles.
For this to work we obviously need an even number of people - so please be extra cautious signing up, because if you change your mind at the last minute we may end up dragging you along with us anyway :-) All pariticipants will need to have their own bikes, of the 'reliable' kind - one group will be biking around 60km one way on somewhat upy-downy roads; the other will be biking around 30km but straight up to the Cypress Bowl Car Park. The bike should also be fairly easy to use for somebody from the other team - no fixies pls! :-)
More details will be posted soon.
A pre-trip meeting will take place on the thursday preceding the trip, in the clubroom. September 10, 7pm.
