Many VOCers can't afford cars, but that doesn't mean you have to scrounge a ride to get out. This page is dedicated to trips that can be pulled off without a car.

Buses

Many trips in West and North Vancouver are accessible by city bus, or various shuttle busses. Check the Translink website for bus schedules.

Greyhound runs regular service between Vancouver and Whistler. They will drop you off just about anywhere along highway 99, but getting picked up by the bus is difficult except in Whistler.

Also, the West Coast Trail is serviced by a private bus company - West Coast Trail Express. They provide service to the trailheads from Victoria and Nanaimo

Hitchhiking

Combination

Cycling

Biking to the trailhead opens up access to a lot of nearby parks that are hard to get to by bus. For these trips, city busses will generally get you close, but not quite all the way there.

Multimodal Self Propelled

a combination of biking, paddling, walking, and climbing.
