The List
This is a (hopefully) fairly comprehensive list of everything the club does. This one is for the 2009-2010 year, but hopefully the trend continues...

Sphinx:
--Outhouse: is not our responsibility, and worked for me, this spring. --Roof: is fairly ok, small leaks do not land on the occupants. Might eventually re-do with corrugated steel. -- Exterior: is good, since we renovated it. -- Fuel Warmth and mildew: good. -- Trails: not our responsibility; in Park. -- Other: any work requires liaison with Parks. They seem to like us showing interest in the Hut, and are helpful.
Brew:
-- Outhouse: is filling fast, and the bedrock up there does not permit a very deep hole. Is it time... -- Roof: is good. -- Exterior: good; could use a little paint on wood trim because it sees a lot of weather. --- Fuel Warmth and mildew: We need a trip in the Fall to prepare a winter's supply of old hut to use for firewood. Not too much, just the right amount. -- Trail: winter trail is excellent. We really do need some sort of summer trail, whether illegal, partial, or not recommended. Brew is still a good destination in the summer, when it is much more accessible. --Other: If there was a summer trail, we could invite the Scouts to use the Hut, and collect money from them @$5/nite
Phelix:
-- Outhouse has interesting drainage problems, but appeared to be not full. Can we deal with the environmental impact of draining into the lake? -- Roof needs major work, already started. -- Exterior trim could use a little paint. -- Fuel, warmth, mildew etc: Phelix needs some serious mildew treatment, washing the walls with bleach, drying them, and painting with mildew resistant and waterproof paint. This may be somewhat urgent. A wood burning stove has serious political opposition. Roland wants to use the existing solar panel plus some hardware to build a solar heat capture device, to remove hut moisture during the summer, or when there is sunlight. This is to satisfy Roland's ongoing interest in Solar, to utilize the panel which is up there, and may not totally cure the mildew problem. -- Trail is now quite good, but likely the slide alder will require frequent bush whacking. -- Other Permit re-application process continues; until that is settled, we may have trouble generating enthusiasm. Should double-glaze windows which are a source of heat loss. This is easily done.
Harrison:
-- Outhouse has an interesting boulder field and a tatty structure. A new structure would be easier if we were doing a helicopter trip, in connection with other work. Is it full? -- Roof has a few small leaks, could use some more screws for now. Eventually a corrugated steel roof should be considered. -- Exterior: S end wall is extensively sun-damaged. We might consider covering it with corrugated steel, like Brew and now Harrison. This would be expensive, require a helicopter to haul in the steel. Corrugated steel could be applied tot he roof at the same time. This would be a weeks work for a crew working hard. -- Fuel, warmth, mildew etc: No point gathering firewood if the snowmobilers are the only people who can visit it in the winter. No point insulating extensively as long as the wood heater is available. -- Trail got a really good unofficial start last summer. WE are now in a position to apply for a permit to build a trail, and to apply to MEC for money to build it. Do we want to do this? Do we want to work on it without a permit, which is illegal and won't get us any funding, but might save a few people from getting lost. -- Other: Lack of winter access to this fine winter destination, unless you are a helicopter, or a snowmobile, is unfortunate.
