The route up to Hanging Lake has one unavoidable difficult section - a 35 to 40 degree slope in the forest. Furthermore, the easiest way up requires doing a couple kick turns above a small cliff, albeit on a gentler angle. I'd say that overall it's harder, but shorter, than the infamous "beginner slayer" trail to the Brian Waddington Hut. Strong "survival skiing" skills will get you through in one piece. Are we supposed to camp in the watershed? Is that the plan for this trip? I've never figured out what the "real rules" are. Maybe the VOC should come up with some sort of "recommendation" for their trips. Scott Webster 13:38, 10 February 2009 (PST)
