March 4th is Elissa's birthday. In true VOC spirit, it would be unthinkable to have a birthday on a weekend and not find oneself somewhere lovely. Hopefully Brew Hut will provide just that lovely location next weekend, with warm mulled wine, a warm fire, warm friends, hearty food and hearty song... oh and hopefully more of the "mad pow" [sic] we "shredded" [sic] last weekend. The route in to Brew Hut is reasonably beginner friendly, and all are welcome, but you should have some winter camping skills, have carried an over night pack and have been on backcountry skis before. Snowshoers are also welcome, as long as there are more than one of you so that it doesn't matter if we split into two groups.

Message board thread

At the pre-trip meeting we decided to make an early start - drivers please pick up your passengers in time to clear downtown by 6am. We'll meet at the turn off at the highway when we get there - hopefully we can then drive up to the snowcat skiing base.
