The future of backcountry skiing in the Phelix Creek drainage - the area surrounding the Brian Waddington Memorial Hut - is at stake. The government has re-opened the Winter Backcounty Forum's recommendations for land use in the Lil'wat Nation region (including the area around Phelix Creek) and assigned a mediator to investigate.
