Archive:Harrison Hut Recon June 2008

Goal

Flag a trail to the Harrison Hut, make a list of repairs that need to be made to the hut.

See message board for details. This is to happen on the weekend of the summer solstice, June 21-22

Route

To trailhead

From Pemberton, follow Upper Lilloet FSR, turn left at the bridge over the Lillooet into Meager Creek Main branch (gate - locked; PeteH has key), continue along this road. Turn left over the (new) bridge over Meager Creek, past the hotsprings. Cross Barr/Madhorse Creek and take a left at the Barr FSR, follow up the slighly overgrown switchbacks to top (NE corner) of clearcut.

Trailhead to Hut

The proposed new route follows the broad divide up on the west side of Barr creek to the alpine.
