The Trip

We'll be going up to Cypress for a day of cross country skiing. Cypress has several km of cross country trails where we can enjoy a day out of the city, in the mountains and in the snow!

For Who

Everybody is welcome. This actually is a perfect trip for everyone who has never been on skis, is scared to get on alpine or telemark right away, and would like to start out easy and get some exercise.

Date

Saturday January 29th. We would like to be at Cypress between 9 and 10 am, before the major crowed. This way we won't have any problems with parking.

Pre-trip meeting

Will be either on Tuesday January 25th or Wednesday January 26th. Check the message board.
If we get a group rate you might need to pre-pay at the meeting.

Cost

The Nordic Area ticket is $ 17.86 and ski rental $ 18.75 for the day. If we are more than 20 people we'll get a group rate. I will post the group rate as soon as I hear back from Cypress. Skis can also be rented from MEC or Sigge's, but prices are pretty much the same and renting at Cypress the most convenient option

How to get there?

Car: Take the Lions Gate Bridge and follow the signs to Highway One (via Taylor Way). Continue west, take Exit #8 onto Cypress Bowl Rd. Follow this road 13 kms (8 miles) for Cross Country Skiing.

Public Transport/Shuttle Bus Seabus to the Cypress Mountain Shuttle Bus at Lonsdale Quay in North Vancouver. Shuttle Bus www.cypresscoachlines.com for stops around town
