Exec Nominations 2024
The VOC needs a new Executive for 2024/2025!
Elections this year will take place online in the weeks before the Annual General Meeting. Elections results will be announced at the Annual Banquet which this year is on March 28th. You can nominate yourself, or someone you think would do a good job. If you're nominating someone else, please talk with them about it first. Executives must be an AMS member (ie. a student) next year. President and Treasurer must have been on the exec previously. It is fine to write a person down for more than one position, but at the end of the day you can only actually do one. For some positions, especially Huts, Trails, Trips, it is very worth while to have somebody who will be around during the summer in that position.
Nominations are open from now until March 9th at midnight. You can anonymously nominate someone using the Qualtrics form. This page will be periodically updated with the form submissions.
It also helps to distinguish whether someone is nominating themselves, or nominating someone else [self-nomination vs. peer-nomination]. Or we can add excitement and leave it a mystery.

President
- Co-ordinates everything and keeps the exec running smoothly. Must have been on the exec previously.

Vice-President (formerly Secretary)
- Coordinates between the exec and the various committees. Takes minutes at meetings, helps writing grant applications
Treasurer
- Handles the cash and keeps the AMS happy. Must have been on the exec previously.
Social Coordinator
- Organizes social events (especially Rock Party, and the AGM)
- Melissa Chen (peer)
EDI Coordinator (formerly VP)
- Heads the IDEA committee and improves accessibility.
- Brianna Ragsdale (peer)
Membership Chair
- Gets new members, and handles clubs days in September and January
VOCene Editor
- Puts out the weekly VOCene
Trips Coordinator
- Encourages people to lead trips. Ensures annual trips are happening (Glacier School 1 and 2, Winter Longhike, Tele School, etc)
Climbing Coordinator
- Ensures various climbing trips happen throughout the year (not including Rock Party or Son of Rock). Coordinates with Aviary as needed.
Water Sports Coordinator
- Ensures water sports trips occur and helps develop paddling within the VOC
Head Quartermaster
- Organizes quartermasters and looks after gear replacement and maintenance including new purchasing.
Quartermasters
- Maintain the gear stash and run gear hours. Note that we need at least five quartermasters. There can also be a committee of gear helpers.
Journal Editor
- Tackles the monumental task of producing a 300 page book in about 1.5 months
Social Media Coordinator
- Organizes slideshows and books rooms on campus. In charge of the social media accounts.
- Sri Chaitanya
Legacy Coordinator (formerly Archivist)
- Organizes the Neil Mackenzie Adventure Grant, Jared Stanley Memorial Lecture, and the Simple Joys of Will Ungar trip. Maintains library and archives collections. Buys new books for the clubroom.
External Relations Representative
- Representative liaison to outside clubs and organizations. Formerly FMCBC/ACC Rep.
Huts Coordinator
- Oversees huts management, maintenance, capital projects, tenures and public relations.
Trails Coordinator
- Oversees trail work.
Huts & Trails Access Coordinator
- Communicates with the Forest District office and other stakeholders to maintain access to our huts and trails.
Swag Master
- Oversees gear purchases for the club and members, negotiates good deals, organizes club AST courses
Webmaster
- Maintains the website, manages the development of the website and other projects, does miscellaneous technical tasks. Must be familiar with Linux and willing to google lots of things.
